Guinness World Record Holding Acrobat Comes To Brooklyn Center
Performing as a guest artist with the Nai-Ni Chen Dance Company, Guinness World Record holding acrobat Lina Liu will showcase her astounding foot juggling on February 11, 2018 at Kumble Theatre in downtown Brooklyn as part of Brooklyn Center’s 5th Annual Lunar New Year Celebration.
Lina Liu is a highly trained foot juggler, performing her craft for audiences all over the world. Since the age of 14, Liu has mastered one of the most difficult forms of acrobatics, expressing and preserving the classical umbrella culture.
In 2009, she set the Guinness World Record for most open umbrellas balanced simultaneously (8 umbrellas). She then broke her own record 2 years later with 9 umbrellas balanced. Using her body and feet, she delicately “tiptoes” umbrellas, spinning and tossing them through the air.
Her professional career has taken her across the globe with performances in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Italy, Turkey, South Korea, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, and the United States. She has performed in many of the world’s most prestigious venues including the British Royal Opera House, the Théâtre du Chatelet in Paris, the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, and New York City’s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
