Craig Lucas's "Reckless"
Oct 27-Nov 1
Artwork by Joe Loguirato
In Reckless, the protagonist Rachel wakes up one morning to find that her husband has taken out a “hit” on her. In order to save her own life, Rachel has to abandon her children and escape out of a window on a snowy, cold Christmas Day. In this Alice in Wonderland meets Groundhog Day meets contemporary morality play, Rachel barrels and careens through dream sequences, game shows and therapy as she navigates immeasurable loss and the everyday tragedies of life. It’s hard to decipher what’s truth from fiction. But the real truth is that it’s hard to break free from the stories we make up about our own lives.
